Empress Delivers Next Generation Database |
Empress RDBMS V8.10: Persistent Stored Modules, C++ Interface, JDBC Interface
Greenbelt, MD -- Empress announces the availability of Empress RDBMS V8.10, a new comprehensive database application development solution. Spanning business to engineering applications, Empress provides one management system capable of handling multiple, diverse data types. In addition, a host of options which allow the database developer to expand the functionalities of Empress are now available. These include object technologies such as Persistent Stored Modules; a C++ host language Interface; and an Empress JDBC Interface.
The object-relational database technology of Persistent Stored Modules (PSM) enhance the efficiency of Empress RDBMS V8.10. Persistent Stored Modules allow for full control in designing triggers, stored procedures and functions. PSM cuts down development time by providing the power to create unique reusable components. With user-friendly interfaces, you can create your own User Defined Functions and User Defined Procedures as dynamically loadable libraries. These can be executed whenever you wish. Furthermore, Empress PSM conforms to the ANSI 96 standard.
"As the information world evolves, database developers are calling for next generation products that are primed to meet the challenges of the future," states Njai Wong Director of Product Development. "Our answer is the Empress RDBMS V8.10, a new breed of application development software designed for fast, flexible and efficient data management. In addition to object-relational technologies, Version 8 delivers powerful Web tools, flexible Java capabilities and other exciting innovations."
The C++ Interface is an optional component for Empress RDBMS V8.10 that provides the capability of calling database manipulation routines from C++ programs. Empress's code is optimized for the fast storage and retrieval of objects. Moreover, the C++ Interface is located directly at kernel-level, the fastest level within Empress's solid, multi-level architecture.
For Java developers, a new optional Empress JDBC Interface is provided. Users may write Java programs, to display, retrieve and format information residing on Empress databases. Web developers can easily create Java-based Web servlets, and CGI programs to manage Empress databases. In addition developers can utilize Java's freely- distributed, platform-independent Abstract Windowing Toolkit (AWT)TM as a powerful applet and graphical application development environment.
Empress Software develops and supports the Empress Relational Database Management System. The Empress RDBMS V8.10 is one of the most powerful and cost-effective development databases especially designed for embedded systems developers operating on Unix, Windows or real-time environments. Empress has been utilized successfully in many fields including image and voice management, space exploration, flight simulation, telecommunications, medical systems, geographical information systems and network management.
